Experimented more with various settings on the TA-30... I found that on Channel 1 when using the MASTER mode (pull out CUT knob), the hiss noise goes away. Problem solved. That's how I prefer to use this channel clean for live work anyways, so the whole loop noise thing is no longer an issue...

Just did a big outdoor show -- large stage, big PA, horn section going. I was using the 1-12 LSS with the channel volume at 12:00, and the master at about 10:00. Stage volumes were loud, and horns and keys competing in the same frequencies with the guitar, but the monitor mixes were excellent...

At different times I've tried a reissue TS-9, a DIY TS-808, and a Fulltone OCD with my LSS. My goal was to dial in the LSS for a good crunch on channel 2, and have a pedal to kick in a bit more volume and a bit more gain for solos. The TS-9 and 808 colored the tone too much. I still might try...
