Anyone running a TA-15 with a mini recto cab?

Like the title says :-) I'm thinking of getting a 1x12 mini recto slant cab to go with the used TA-15 i'm about to buy. Anyone happily using this config? Cheers! Stu.

    Famous Lonestar Cleans?

Yes, it's still got the original mesa tubes in. I think i've found the problem...... My multi-effects box! It's never been a problem with any other amp i've owned (including a Road King!) so I didn't give it a second thought, but on the Lonestar my FX box appears to increase the signal (even in...

    Famous Lonestar Cleans?

Hi All, I had a good play in a shop on a new LSS with a Strat and fell in love with the tones but being a cheapskate I then went out and bought a lightly used one. Before buying I had a good blast with the owners Gibson DC and again it sounded great. I get it home and stick my PRS in it and it...

Roadking owner - Thinking of a change....

Well I checked out the Lonestar Special 1x12 combo at the weekend. Obviously it has nowhere near the versatility of the Road King, but I was able to get some lovely sounds out of it AND despite the combo being a few Kg heavier than the head, due to the shape and size of it I found it far easier...

Roadking owner - Thinking of a change....

The figures I have are RK Head = 21Kg and Lonestar Special 1 x 12 combo = 26Kg. And like I mentioned earlier, once you add the hard case for the head the difference is quite small and the head being wide, I believe is just more awkward to carry

Roadking owner - Thinking of a change....

I already have one of those wheeled cases. :) It's good but it does increase the overall bulk of the head when trying to shift it around and it does add considerable weight (not far off what a Lonestar 1 x 12 combo would weigh) so I feel like a weight lifter when i'm getting this out of the...

Roadking owner - Thinking of a change....

Actually my initial thoughts were maybe a Lone Star or Transatlantic TA-30. Never played either of them but on paper they sound interesting. Will check out what's said about the "Electra". Thanks.

Roadking owner - Thinking of a change....

Hi Gang, I love my Roadking. It is the most versatile amp I have EVER owned, the tone is awesome and I can't fault it except for one thing.... Jeez it's heavy! And lugging it around to gigs is becoming a little annoying. If.... I did the unthinkable and decide to trade it, what would be a...

    Roadking (1) Gone bang!

It's ALIVE! In case anyone was curious... The amp guy traced the problem to a relay. Apparently there's loads of 'em in a Roadking and one had failed. He replaced this and all was good. However he checked everything else out and found a preamp tube was on the way out and that got replaced too...

    Roadking (1) Gone bang!

Easy tigers! Let's keep it friendly. :D FYI - When I looked at the valves they were "on" but I reckon only a fraction of the brightness they normally would be. I'm agreeing the preamp area sounds like the culprit. Unfortunately the amp is way out of warranty and the authorised service dealer...

    Roadking (1) Gone bang!

Well not actually bang...... :D Hi Gang, I was at rehearsal tonight and all of a sudden the volume just dropped and sound quality went to 5h1t. This was across all 4 channels and I use either the 6L6's or EL34's depending on the channel so as all channels were affected i'm guessing it's not...

Looking to get a Boogie. Mark V or Roadster???

Had mucho fun this afternoon getting cool sounds from the "King". One question as it's not clear to me from the manual....... Can I use the SLAVE OUT as a line out to a PA ?

Looking to get a Boogie. Mark V or Roadster???

Well i've gone and done it...... :D Originally I thought I wanted a Mk V or Roadster but when a used Road King Head & Cabs (yes plural) turned up at an attractive price..... The test drive sold it to me, the owner had already dialled in similar tones to what I was looking for. I look forward...

Looking to get a Boogie. Mark V or Roadster???

Thanks for all the wise words, i'm pretty much decided i'll be getting a head & cab now as i don't need a hernia :D I'm off to test a Road King II tomorrow!

Looking to get a Boogie. Mark V or Roadster???

Decisions, decisions.... I still haven't had the opportunity to test a Roadster yet but I see on a well known auction site there is a used Road King currently for sale a LOT cheaper than a new Mk V or Roadster. Now i've read the reviews and read the manual and the Road King is far more amp than...
