    FT: Engl invader 100

Got a used but not abused engl invader 100. Its got a few marks in the tolex but no major rips or tears. The only issue is that the standy letters started flaking off so I just removed them so that the amp looked clean. Otherwise no issues at all. Its got a fresh set of E34L's and JJ pres...

    mark V footswitch troubleshooting.

Well It turns out im an idiot. I ended up breaking the jack for the amp with my constant wiggling trying to trouble shoot this issue. The jack was about to break anyhow I just helped it along. But at the end of the day the amp never failed. Turns out it was a faulty circuit breaker on one...

    Which Mesa 4x12?

I prefer the recto cab. But many people prefer the tight response that the Stiletto cabs offer. They also seem to have a mid range hump to them. Haggertys does a good side by side video of them. I actually really like the low end grunt that the recto cab provides. And if it starts...

Mark V combo is just too heavy.

Well Im just speaking from experience and from what the manual says. Especially in channel three. Im not saying they dont do ANYTHING. Im simply saying that they are not as responsive as in other amps that dont possess a GEQ. Its openly stated by mesa that this is part of how the MKV is...

Mark V combo is just too heavy.

I know its not mesa gear but a lot of people are expressing great interest and satisfaction with it is DV mark amps. They are the same Italian company that makes the Mark Bass amplifiers. The head that would be most comparable to the mark V would be the new re release of the Triple 6. It...

    Mesa V30 vs Celestion V30

Wow. I didnt even read which was which first and took a listen. It aint no surprise I chose the mesa speaker as the winner.

    mark V footswitch troubleshooting.

So it appears its the jack for the fx return. This sucks man, closest repair place that will touch mesa is over an hour away and they always take at least a month with any gear I take to them. I would ship it to mesa but that would be over $50 to ship the amp when its a $30 repair. ARGGGHH...

    mark V footswitch troubleshooting.

Well looks like my amp is suffering from two ailments. I fixed the footswitch issue which stopped the machine gunning. But my amp still cuts out all volume when the fx loop is engaged. I know its not the footswitch as it does it with it removed.

    mark V footswitch troubleshooting.

Ok guys Im having an issue with my 2009 mark 5 footswitch. I have done some searching and it appears there was a bug where the EQ would jump in and out. My issue is not the same. My issue is my whole amp actually drops in volume with the footswitch attached. Kinda odd. When I hit the FX...

What's your favorite kind of strings and why?

I like dunlop strings. I just think overall they are the best sounding and most balanced string ive played and they really are smooth under the fingers.

JJ E34L in a mark V with no bias mod?

Well remember that its the 5 band graphic only targets those specific 5 frequency ranges. It has some influence across the board but its not going to replace what an EL34 type tube will do for your tone. Think of the 5 band as a way to add less or more of what exists. Think of the actual...

Outdoor pics of my Carvin CT624

Had a small window today to take some outdoor pics of the CT 624 today. Not completely happy as the top on this guitar is very hard to photo. It is so intense and highly figured in person but the camera is just not picking it up due to the curves. If it was a flat top guitar Id have no...
