Not sure.. I play old school blues/hendrixy type stuf. I think it would prolly suck super hardcore metal. But hard rock it may work... never tried with that stuff.

    Speakers/ Studio DC-2 question

You can go with anything 25 watts or more I would think. But If you push the amp I bet you wear out some 25 - 30 watts speakers. I put a cannabis rex in my 22+ and the grin won't come off my face!! There is something about that speaker that just sounds good. if you come by one try it... they...

    Studio 22

I just got my first boogie ever. A 91' 22+ After many combinations found the loudest and ( IMHO ) best clean before breakup.. V1= 12au7 v2= 12at7 the rest 12ax7 the power tubes are siemens E84Ls. ( didnt have a chance to measure the current yet). I have a good collection of NOS preamp tubes...

New Mesa Tube.. something loose inside?

I would not consider it normal by any strech. There should be nothing "loose" in the tube... looks like a cheap chinese tube with a mesa stamp on it.

bias readings with JJE34Ls and KT77s from weber bias rite

Also... one has to consider that the two circuits around the tube socket are not perfectly equal. For example if you were to swap tubes in the sockets you may see them drift more apart or come closer together.

A Little Insight into Mesa's Thinking.

Disregard if you amp is Class A... May be the JJs are drawing too much current in your amp and burning out. Different tubes, even from the same manufacturer from different production cycles can have vastly different current draws. If you cant adjust the circuit ( bias ) how can you blame the...

A Little Insight into Mesa's Thinking.

it would make sense that their fixed bias would be on the low (cold) side of the idle current draw range for given tube type. This would give them more "room" to certify the tubes they coming in. And also decrease the chance of plate glow should one ( god forbid ) throw in a set of JJs or some...

A Little Insight into Mesa's Thinking.

Hmm... You must work for Boogie tube marketing division... right?? A lot of the things you say make no sense... I'm just trying to get folks to the thruth and not picking on ya!! Different tubes will draw different current from the same circuit at IDLE ( no guitar signal ) !!! By having a Bias...

Is there anyway... (buying tubes content)

My first post on the boards.. It seems to me you are in the "gray" zone that every boogie owner is in who has not yet installed a bias pot... My hat is off to Mr. Smith for making great amps and then selling folks on the idea that they MUST use his tubes... brilliant!! I know it will be a...
