I never use lead drive of more than 5 on my Quad for HB guitars, that's enough to play Slayer or more saturated for example. I often back it down to 4. I'll sometimes use up to 6-7 for traditional single coil guitars.

Nuno and Dime both had this figured out: L500XL + '59N. I did that in my ash Charvel and couldn't be happier.

The Mark V is basically perfection as a result of all the lessons learned over the years from the Mark series regarding balance, separation, etc. People are willing to pay for that. :mrgreen:

Yes it is. The black stripe III has my favorite Lead channel of all time, and is the basis for 1/2 of my favorite Boogie of all time, the mighty Quad! :twisted:
