What are the serial #'s of your different version TX4 pre's? Most of the changes seem to be just better board layouts.

Unfortunately, if your Triaxis is the newest one loaded with the TX5 board, they cannot undo the phat mod... it is the phat mod. Also the main pcb is different and even if you were able to get your hands on the TX4 board, you couldn't make it work. Bottom line again is to sell it and get one...

I think your problem is that you have the phat mod newest version Triaxis. Lead 1 Red sounds like anus on that version. I had the exact same problem so I sold my newer TA and got an older one with the TX4 circuit. Now Lead 1 Red is my main tone. Literally EVERY tone I dial in on my Lead 1 red...

It's rare in my experience to find a Mesa with bad solder joints but check them. Otherwise it could be your LDR's or caps on ch 1. I don't think it's a voltage supply issue as your 2 channels share the same plate voltage. ... ??? I dunno.

The new ones with the TX5 have a completely different main board cause of the different LDR configurations. It's impossible to go to or from a TX5. I think the TX5 is a joke though.. what a piece of crap. I wish Mesa would have kept the TX4 and just redesigned around the new LDR's.
