I saw the word Schecter...thats the problem. Ive never played a good schecter. Also i feel that active pickups have no character to them. A good set of Dimarzios or Seymour Duncans sound the best IMO through a mark V.

Dude the port city cabs are brutal as heck...i used a mark V with a 2x12 with the last metal band i was in. It had just as much punch as an orange or recto cab but more clarity. I Dont want to even imagine the OS 4x12 port city has...i would probably die of musical causes

Please for the love of good tone dont buy anything from Boss...unless its been modified. The Fulltone is the best. It uses a photo-cell so you get a good sound without that ticking noise from crap tremolo pedals. Tried it out at a local guitar shop its the best. Another good pedal from them is...

Fulltone supa-trem...best one on the market. Cost a pretty penny though but doesnt suck tone.

IDK about the gas dying down on the Mark V. Have you seen all the artist switching over to them?

Bright switch on and extreme mode sounds good in a band mix.

Extreme mode can be a little on the bright side on its own...but in a band mix it sounds BROOTAL!!!! Also try it with a seven string. The extra brightness in the amp really helps bring out the low B string.
