Thanks David, the amp sounds great with this speaker so no plans to replace it. I read that this JBL weighs 22 lbs by itself. I had EV ‘s in all my other Mark series combos and this amp probably weighs 10 lbs more than any of them.

Thank you for the information, I’ll definitely test these settings. I’m mainly playing Blues, Santana, ZZ Top, and Zeppelin type music. I’m still impressed with the amp. Curious, do you think that the JBL in my amp might be a special factor order? I have not found another Mesa with this...

Sold my last Boogie almost a year ago, it was a Mark III Black Dot. I picked up this SOB a couple of weeks ago. This combo has a JBL E120 inside (not sure if this was original to the amp). The Mark IIB’s have always been my favorite Mesa amp, and I have owned quite of few different Mesa amps...

I’ve played with the push-pull knobs (bass pull-shift and master1 pull-deep) using Volume 1 and got improved cleans. I was also able to get the amp sounding good with my J-Rockett Dude OD pedal while using the Volume 1 channel. Next, I’ll work with the Rhythm 2 channel and I may just give up...

Just bought what appears to be a near-mint condition Mark III (black dot or stripe?). It’s loaded with an EVM12L, Simul-Class, and Reverb. Only seems to be missing an onboard EQ. I’ve owned a couple of Mark IIB’s, a couple of Mark I RI’s, and another Mark III about few years ago (blue stripe)...

I love my Mark IIB combo, but it is a little road worn, and I want to get the cab recovered with the original white/cream colored tolex (as close as possible) and also recover the wheat grill cloth. Any suggestions on where to get this done? I would preferr to have this done more locally...

I voted not Simul-Class. Not a fan of the Class A tones at 15 watts on a Simul-Class amp.

Love to know this answer also since I am trying to tame the brightness of my new to me Mark III blue stripe. I did change out the two outer EL34's in my Sumul-Class amp, and to my ears, this change did seem to add some Fender sparkle and tone to the amp. I did read a Mesa bulletin...

Thanks Bottle Rocket for your reply. Just to clarify (I have since edited my original post) the volume drop issue happens with both the Volume 1 and Bass knobs, when I turn either of them them past (6) six. I may have confused the issue as stating V1 (Volume 1) with the V1 tube. Any easy...
