So, I must ask what artists use(d) the III? No, disrespect to anyone here, but I mean famous artists that most of us have heard of. Besides Heathen and Anthrax, who used it?

Izzy from Guns N' Roses used one (on Appetite, too).

John Sykes used one on the Whitesnake self titled album (for everything but the "Is This Love?" solos). He also used them on the first Blue Murder album.

Drowning Pool used one on one of their albums (second one I think?).

Petrucci used a "Red Stripe" back in the day.

Jim Martin of Faith No More.

Also, on the hair metal tip, Stryper and a huge Japanese band called Loudness used them as well.

Didn't Metallica use them, too? I know they used the IIC+, but I thought they used a III, also at some point....

It was Loudness that first brought my attention to Mesa. I was not familiar with them before then (I was like 15 at the time, and there was no internet)

Akira Takasaki's tone was just off the hook (as was his playing).

I had asked some freinds if they knew what he played through.

They told me Mesa Boogie. Later I read that Akira had also used Metaltronix(I think that's what it was called), but I also read he used Mesa boogie as well. It was his tone on Lightning Strikes that first caught my attention.
