I don't know which amps cuts through the most out of that group, but I do know that my regular C (not a +) is the most cutting amp I have ever played. I also own a IV and a III blue, and the C is the most "in your face" out of that group for sure.

By the way. I noticed that when ihave my IV in midgain, it cuts through the bands mix pretty good. Almost too good that it puts my guitar sound too up front

never played any of em except my IV..cuts through no problem at all

I love my IIC also. Which model do you have?

My C is a loaded combo (sumul-class, EQ, reverb, etc) w/EV speaker. The original owner purchased the amp new and owned it for about a year before i purchased from him in 1988(?). It was my first "real amp" and I gigged with it for years. I later used it's power section to power a Triaxis for a few years too. Now I gig w/a Mark IV used with w/an Egnater IE-4 preamp. I use this set-up for it's versatility.

IMO, the C amp is so cutting and tight that it doesn't do palm muting that well unless the EQ is very scooped. Even then, it's still very cutting. The clean is great (beats my III & IV), and the lead is incredible for soloing - it cuts, sings, sustains and is harmonically rich. The controlled "musical" feedback is the best I have heard - you can hold a note or chord it will eventually bloom into harmonicallly rich & sustaining feedback (the good kind).

Tell me about your C.

It's 60 watt, Rev/Eq export tranny in wood/wicker combo through an MS-12 speaker. Totally nails the Keith Richards early 80's rhythm sound on the lead channel with Vol 1 on 5-6, Treble around 7 and Lead Drive 5-6 (Yes, I know Keith played a C+!). To get a great organic Duane Allman type lead sound, I'll boost Vol 1 and Lead Gain to about 7 and play with the guitar pots to taste. I cannot coax this type of sound and feel from my C+.

What I love about the amp is how "organic" and musical it sounds, more so than a C+ for most of what I play. It allows a Strat to roar and scream while keeping that cherished Strat "voice" intact. It doesn't get overwhelmed by a Les Paul either, as long as the Gain Boost isn't pulled. It looses some smoothness with real higher gain settings, but I'm not a high gain player anyway. I've toyed with the idea of upgading to a C+ or selling it, but I can't seem to part with it!

C+ cuts through the most in my opinion but honestly, just turn your mids knob up, problem solved.
