Where does the MS-12 sit tone-wise?

Compared to an EVM they're what? Maybe a little darker?

The two I have now also don't seem to have the definition that my EVMs had, but I could be imagining that.

Can anybody help?

I have an MS-12 I put in an 89 Fender super 60 because an EVM wouldn't fit without redrilling the baffle board. My first impression is that it is just a little less efficient than the EV. The 100db @1watt @1meter efficiency of the EV is probably the reason most call them "unforgiving" because it really turns more of the power into sound. The MS-12 sounds very similar to the EV when you compensate by turning your master vol. up about half a notch with maybe a little less top end definition.
