I realize I'm preaching to the choir here, but just wanted to share some Christmas excitement. It's Christmas Eve, and the 20/20 arrived @ 9:30 this morning. What a way to start the day!

Put new tubes in it and ran it through the Studio Pre & then through a JMP-1. Everything sounded just divine.

Crazy thing is that the 20/20 doesn't even have the deep mod (that I know of anyway) and I'm that impressed with it. I have read kinds of things about how the deep mod is a must for this power amp. Anybody running it without the deep mod and happy with things? I mean, if it ain't broke, why fix it...right? Curious to hear some ideas on the necessity of the deep mod.

I've owned a 50/50 and now own a 20/20. I cannot say a bad thing about either power amp. I'm beginning to think that Mesa does not build a bad power amp. :D

Anyway, Merry Christmas to ya Boogie people and have a safe New Year's!

does mesa ever make anything bad? You pay for what you get. A 1000 dollar 6505 orrr a 3000 dollar head or rack set up. You get the picture.

pathos....
im sure mesa has made some bad things.. there is always a lemon or two.. and they have been talked about here...

but i'd like to defend that $1000 peavey 6505.. i have the 5150, and had it for over 6 years and havent had an issue with it.. and that is probably one of the best selling amps... good price point because its 'machined' a bogner is custom built basically so the price is much higher.. mesa i think is in between the mass production and custom built.. plus they regulate their prices so value stays... (but from what ive heard they have better quality control then marshall)

ooo, and i got Guitar center gift cards, so i can order my amp... and a watch

Santa brought me a Mogami guitar cable for my LesPaul, and a Jensen Jet Blackbird for my ElectraDyne.

Both are serious improvements.

My wife got my 3 dress shirts and some undershirts. At my age that's exactly what I wanted. I actually got her to say "holy ****" in front of the kids. I got her 144 rubber stamps from Ebay ... those things are crazy priced at the craft stores ($5-$15) but I got the lot for under $100. Shhh. I got her other craft stuff, and the kids got spoiled as usual.

Me, I already got a Godin Redline III a few weeks ago, and I have a Mark V head coming in next week. I'm also building myself a 2x12 vertical cab.

Good times all around. Makes me feel a bit guilty. I know some people everywhere weren't as fortunate this year because of global recession problems.

Have a Merry Xmas you gearheads!!!

I got to hang out with my family this year for the first time without any drama.

In 2007, my wife had a miscarriage around xmas time...so that sucked. In 2008, she became pregnant again but came down with Preeclampsia and eventually Stage 4 HELLP Syndrome. It was pretty bad because the only way to cure her was to deliver my daughter who (at the time) weighed only 450 grams at 24 weeks gestational age.

We spent last Xmas with my wife in a coma and my daughter inside an incubator on life support.

However, now in 2009. My wife and daughter are healthy and in September our son was born.

Like everyone else, I've had a tough past two years as well. My business tanked because of the recession (I'm still very well off), but money and stuff aren't everything. You can't buy health and you can't buy happiness. I didn't intend on this being a buzzkill, and I hope it isn't. I hope each and everyone of you are happy with where you are and what you have.

After many years of not getting anything music/gear-related......my wife got me a little Tascam DR-07 digital recorder, which is supposed to be pretty good for handling band-volume recording. (I've been wanting one of these)
Just checking it out around the house has me VERY impressed and ready to bring it to the next band rehearsal. Woo-Hoo!!......
