Hey, this is my first time posting on here, so hi :) haha. But I want to know what you guys think would be the best tube choices for me. My budget is about $150. I play lots of metalcore, think The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, but I like to have really nice cleans too. So pretty much I want to have really tight high gain. I have a two channel dual recto. My amp currently has all stock tubes in it, and I think that a new tube set would really make my sound alot better. I was looking at the KT77 and El34 high gain sets on eurotubes, do you guys think that would be a good choice? Thanks for the input

EL34L is a good tube from Bob, the TAD 6L6GC is where it's at for the 6L6 for me. Power tubes do make a difference in your tone but not in the ways like you think I.E: They don't make tubes for a specific t ype of music or playing. As for a whole preamp re-tube, if all your tubes are O.K. then experiment with a high gain in V1, but you do not need the whole set.
Another thing that you could try is a good 808/Tube Screamer type of pedal in front of the amp for more mosh. They really tighten up the amp and give it more aggression when at a good volume. Good Luck!
