I'm in the market for a new amp, and I'm considering a Mesa. I would have to buy used as there's no possible way I could ever afford a brand new Mesa amp.

I play rhythm guitar in a hard rock/alternative band (you can check out our stuff at http://myspace.com/normal or http://myspace.com/normaltheband )

I'm looking for something that has a good midrange and a decent low end. Not too trebly. I would like to keep the cost below $1000, if possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing some tips!

try and find a tremoverb.... darker than a standard dual rectifier but still kicks ***..... also if the EL34 is your thing buy a Stiletto Duece like this:

not mine but in your price range and a great amp....

if thats still too much look for an f-50 or a dc-5... awesome amps for a great price.... maybe even a Nomad

Thanks very much for the suggestions. Would you guys at all be able to guide me in the right direction of finding some soundclips for the Deuce, Mark III and the Nomad???

afxwinter's take on metallica with the mark III, if you do a search in the rigs and tones section you can find demo's of most mesa amps.
