What Marshall amp are these voices taken from? Are they close? OR are they just taken from the Stiletto? Would adding EL-34's make it more convincing?

Just curious.

yes, we are all waiting patiently for someone who has the guts to put el-34's in the V and post clips... :)

IMHO - the EL34 is a better sounding tube than the 6L6; but that's just me. Even if you do put EL34's into the MESA, it's never going to sound like an early Marshall - as they used different transformers. Both amps were built upon the Fender circuit - but 90% of your tonal character comes from the transformers. Bruce Zinky was head of Fender's electronics custom shop, and designed some of the best sounding Fender's ever made. Fender didn't know what "high-gain" was before Bruce came along! He quit Fender because they started putting Chinese made transformers into his amp designs! Great x-former = great tone! sh!t x-former = sh!t tone! It's just that simple.

not sure if you know but bruce now lives in flagstaff az, down the road from me and is building amps on his own called zinky. checked 'em out at namm a bit and have some buddy's playing them exclusively. i have not spent a lot of time on them but know one guy inparticular that completely dropped and sold all his boogie stuff for zinky.

Coming back to the original question and the reference in subject... What Marshall amp are these voices taken from?
Thanks

You mean a Vox AC30 like the amps that The Edge (U2) uses?
Maybe, that's where the name comes from. 8)

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean, the AC30.

But until now, I was thinking of Edge as the way it cuts through the band (since that was the old Stilletto advertising)...now it's making even more sense, thanks!
