Hey! How goes it?

New mark IV owner here. What is the difference between the Mark IV short, medium and long heads? I notice that the medium and long heads have the mid gain and graphic eq switches between the eq sliders. I have a long head and I am curious to know what the differences, are if any between these heads other than looks. Thanks!

other than a few extra controls added to the front there is really no difference. They are the same only different. Just longer.

The long (or medium) chassis has the mid gain/harmonics switch on the front instead of the back. The short chassis was made to fit in a standard rack. Tonally, they should be the same.

It helps a little when playing live just having those couple of extra controls in the front opposed to fiddling in the dark with your hand behind the amp. But otherwise they are exactly the same sound wise.

That, and I've read the wide-body combo is supposed to supply a more open sound with better bass response.
