That thing's gunna weigh a metric ton. With tone that fat and weighing that much they shoul have just called the combo Fat *******.
 
i think a IV with a C90 is 66#

the IV I nearly owned was easily a pound per watt :lol: "dense star matter" indeed!

That amp's bigger than, and I'll bet has a lot more parts in it, than a MkIV!

true, but the electronics won't add a lot more weight... few pounds maybe? the vast majority of the weight is in the chassis, shell and speaker...
 
I have an extra 200 watt Black Shadow from my Mrk III ext. cab, that I am gonna keep to load the new Mrk V with. As for weight, I don`t care about the weight.

Yes, but technology improvements in the years since the IV came out hopefully will make a big difference.
Look what Mesa did with the Express series.
Be interesting to see the weight of the V combo.
If it does weigh a tonne the head could well be the go :mrgreen:
 
The amp is not bigger than a Mark IV. It is the same size as a widebody mark IV. More stuff inside, though, definitely.
