what brand el84's are being shipped in Mesa's today???

Hey all, does anybody know what tube brand Mesa is using currently in their Mark V's,,,,???
specifically the Mark V 35 ???? specifically the el84's

EL84/6BQ5 Russian
5881 STR 425 Russian
6V6 STR 417 Chinese

Sovtek's are made in Russia, JJ's are made in The Czech Republic, which Mesa is currently using for their 12AX7A.

Only other company in Russia making 6L6 is/was Svetlana.

Following your logic, then, the 6V6s are also Sovtek? I would have guessed Electro Harmonix.

I find that quite interesting. I have a Granger V20 Nitro - a 20 watt high gain amp powered by 2 6V6 tubes. Kurt Granger only uses JJ tubes. I found that the only other 6V6 that can handle the high plate voltages in that amp is the TAD 6V6GT, the same tube referenced in the link you provided. Following this line of thinking, a JJ 6V6 should also be able to replace the Mesa 6V6 with no issues.

On Mesa's site where you can order tubes, they list their 6V6s as Russian. Not doubting the info you shared, just wonder why Mesa would be confused on the tubes they sell. Maybe their web design team is unaware.
