i finally broke down and bought the Mark V head. I have owned a triaxis since 1999 and several other amps but i just kept eyeing the mark v and couldnt stand it any longer......lol

so far i love it and im certainly still getting used to it and even though i'm a long time boogie guy im figuring there will still be some time involved in dialing in the mark v head.......but i'm pretty pumped right now!!!!!!

Welcome to the club! Yep, the Mark series has much to offer for flexibility AND Randy has been constantly improving, adding, and capturing not just the early Marks in the V but other little "easter eggs" as well. 8)

Do you hear a lot of differences between the triaxis and the V? I think they sound very similar, although the triaxis seems to be more compressed...i also favor the V's knobs for tweaking on the fly as opposed to the push buttons of the triaxis, then hit enter twice to save the setting!!

Congrats and welcome to the club! Every peice of equipment i've ever owned took me a while to really get a feel for it , natually. This monster with its 9 modes and tons of voicing and eq options really has been a fun ride learning. Its been about a year for me and play it almost daily. I've settled on a few favorites but still discovering new tones. Enjoy the ride!

Congrats, as you probably know all too well each Mesa amp contains it's own epic tone journey. Enjoy! :D

initially i was a bit bummed because i didnt hear a lot of difference but now that I've played on the V for a few hours and been able to A/B them back and forth I do hear some very noticable differences and honestly they seem to favor the V......i'm not saying that to "justify" my purchase because I would never do that......the V seems to be a little punchier and in your face so to speak.......and honestly not quite as scooped as the triaxis....the midrange on the V is much more noticable and nice......i'm gonna keep tweaking and see what comes of it.

and thanks everyone it is very exciting to be jamming with this thing!

Congrats!! JUST WAIT MAN!... Once you spend way more time with it the tones you can achive are ENDLESS!! I have had my V for over a year and just found my MASTER channel settings I think. And then next month I'll find even more tones per channel!

Some advice is to mark down your settings and log them in your Mark V manual. This has helped me go back and understand why I liked them settings and so I can quickly turn the knobs again withour worring about remembering my last settings. ENJOY!

And BTW, most everybody has WAY different settings. I have tried some of the example settings people post on here and hardly any of them work for me.

Dont worry about what other people do... FIND YOUR OWN VOICE WITH THE V AND ROCK OUT! :D

you're right.......after owning the triaxis since 1999 i still find time to tweak and adjust sounds.......BOOGIE stuff is just made for tweakers plain and simple in my eyes and to my ears. i'm just a couple of days in and I'm already becoming so much more comfortable with the Mark V......it's sounding fantastic to me!!! cant wait to spend more time with it.

the mark v is blowing me away..........each day I'm getting more comfortable and really enjoing this amp....i am amazed at how great it sounds......really glad i made the purchase.

Glad you are enjoying it! I have owned many Mesas over the years, but the V is the only amp that has made me stop looking at other amps. I did sell my first V to buy an AXE FX, but now I know what that is like and have had my 2nd V for almost a year now. No regrets! Just loving my tones everytime I plug in.

Congrats!! The MkV is a fantastic amp and one that I will NEVER sell!
My love for it has only continued to grow throughout my ownership since I purchased it during its initial release!!
