Have any of you guys played this thing? It looks pretty awesome and seems to be exactly what I've been looking for.

Nitro,

I got an X50 a month ago. Since then I've been surprised at how much I dig this as a practice axe. Few reasons why:

The craftsmanship is better than I expected for an import. I love carved tops, and I think mohogany was a good body choice on this axe. And I'm a huge sucker for body/neck binding!

The neck is a bit thicker than say a wizard, feels just about perfect in my opinion. But I usually prefer thicker necks.

I first put an EMG 85 in the bridge position of my main guitar in '94, and I was never able to get away from that sound since. The Custom Custom sounds kind of like a dynamic version of an 85, which I really dig. But they also come with EMG's if you prefer :p Either way, it was a plus that I wouldn't have to replace the stock pickups at the usual expense of a couple hundred extra.

Seems a good guitar for the price. My only semi-complaint is that I'm fairly addicted to putting Sperzels on most of my guitars. I detect some slight string slippage with the stock Grovers, and there's no fine tuners (fixed bridge). Minor grumble.

Hey thanks man. Is it on par with the higher end LTD line? I'm a Les Paul guy, but I'm looking for something with a strat shape with humbuckers. I'm an avid EMG fan, so when I saw this, it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. That, and it's under $1,000 which is nice. If I have to shell out some serious cash for a new axe I will, but if this thing is pretty cool...and for only $599...I may end up snagging it.
