I know I know its just a volume pedal but... I use a volume pedal at the beginning of the effects loop to keep the distortion the same and just lower and raise the volume. If you use the Ernie Ball jr vp try removing it and see if you notice tone and volume change. I have always had the ernie ball in the loop so I didnt notice it before but after replacing it with the dunlop Volume X Man it made a really big difference. The Ernie ball changed the overal tone by pulling out some of the highs and lows and lowering the overall volume. I would highly recommend the volume X.

I have the volume X and I'm liking it a lot. No battery, expression out, smooth, doesn't change my tone... what more do you need?

OH MAN!

That's great to hear, been wanting to pick this one up
for my PS-6. Is there some kind of switch that will
allow it to go from volume to expression w/o swapping
cords?

If it's a 250K ohm Ernie Ball, it's not going to work very well. The 25K ohm is the proper one for line-level signals.

No Switches. It has separate jacks for line in out and input for expression pedal. Its the size of the dunlop wah.
Not sure if its 250 or 25 it is the JR version.

They make the JRs in both impedances, but the 25K version isn't nearly as common in stores.

Wait, PS-6, you don't happen to mean Boss PS-6 Harmonist? I have that pedal and have been thinking of adding an expression pedal.

Would Volume X work with the PS-6 Harmonista? Volume X looks much more interesting to me than the flimsy Boss/Roland expression pedals...

I have the ps6 on my board I can try it out with the volume X tonight I don't see why it wouldn't work

Yes, the same. I don't really have room for a volume X but I feel like I'm beating the **** out of my ps-6...hehe.

Please do!!!
I think ya need a stereo TRS though no?

...so how did it go?

I'll be pulling the trigger on an expression pedal for my PS-6 in a couple of days, and it'd be interesting to hear how Volume X performs with it.

Sorry I have been slacking ill try it next practice. I dont see why it shouldnt work. There is a seperate 1/4 jack for expression pedal. Ill try and do it tonight

I finally got one and it works great with the PS-6!
I don't have a Whammy so I can't compare the two.
One thing that got me was that the rise/fall on the
PS-6 S-bend mode, when used with the Volume X,
it seemed to cause a little latency. I set rise/fall to
nil then the Volume X tracked best.

I'm gonna take it to rehearsal tonight and see how
it goes. I'm a little quicker with the PS-6 itself
because the throw isn't as long, but I think it's just
a matter of getting use to it.

As a straight up volume pedal, I put it last in the
chain and in front of the Mark V (mainly 'cause I
didn't wanna redo my board). Anyhow, it works
clean for me too. No noticeable difference in volume
and tone.
