VER2 Mesa 2:90 POWER AMP trouble

I am using the 2:90 with my TRIAXIS and am having a weird hum and slight volume swell whenever I am in HALF DRIVE that includes any combination using HALF DRIVE. MODERN DRIVE and DEEP DRIVE sound perfect.I changed cables and still have a low hum and a slight volume swell every like 15 to 30 seconds. Anyone have a clue whats going on?

Noup but when I use my half drive,I lost bass and add too much treble so I stop using it.

Thanks for the fast response 18&Life. I knew I could count on you for quick advice bro.You know , I went back in and jammed for about 20 minutes and NOTHING :? It seems fine now. Hmmmmmm. Well I guess I will just keep an ear out for it. Cheers , Michael

Have you checked if same tone is heard with or without half modem ?
As I said mine half modem changed a lot the tone. :wink:

It was only happening in HALF DRIVE. All the other triggers work beautiful. Keep in mind any combination that INCLUDED Half Drive it was happening. Any combination WITHOUT HALF DRIVE worked killer. Now , I went back in and jammed for 20 minutes or so and HALF DRIVE worked perfect. So I will keep you posted on the days to come :wink:

When you use half mode,the tone is the same when you aren't using it ?
Meaning =

deep+modern+HALF MODE have the same tone as

deep +modern WITHOUT HALF MODEM ? :shock:

With half modem ONLY volume changed or TONE too ?

Trouble only occured when I introduced HALH DRIVE to any combination. Everything else worked great. Sorry thats the best I can explain what WAS happening. WAS is the key word here thankfully.

Have you tried using a single footswitch to operate the half drive jack? This will eliminate the TA as a possible problem.

You did not understand what i wrote. The TA might have a problem with the switching jack and is causing the problem in the 290.

UPDATE if anyone cares: The problem was my TRIAXIS TUBES needed replacing. Mesa told me that in HALF MODE the TRIAXIS TUBES are doing a lot more work. Being that they were OLD I replaced them and VOILA (pardon my French) that took care of the hum and volume swell in HALF DRIVE. Take care , Michael
