An OD pedal will just thin out your tone even more as it will naturally roll off bass and add mids. The V30 will have a little more bass and a little less mids than the C90, but it will still be just 1 speaker in an open back combo.
IMO the best way to increase bass is to increase the number of speakers. A 2X12 closed back cabinet will give you more punch in the low end for sure.
How old are your powertubes. Poor bass response can also be a sign of worn out powertubes.

Not quite true about OD pedals..... A typical TS type will thin out (TS9 / 808) however you can try an MI Audio Tube Zone pedal but I feel the bottom end is a little heavy and difficult to dial out unless used with an EQ pedal after it. Overall, a good pedal.
About TS pedals.... to add to domct203 comment; place an EQ pedal after the OD or place in the loop but they each do different things out front or in loop. You can't go wrong. MXR 10 band is good. If you go the TS route, try MI Audio's Blues Pro pedal. It's a good one.
If you don't want an OD, push the front end with an EQ pedal and adjust to get the tone you want.
I own a rectoverb but don't use modern mode. It sounds too harsh and thin to me. I also thought the V30 had less bass and more mids than the C90 from what I've read about V30's. The C90 in my amp pumps out enough bass to shake the windows at home. No probems with palm mute chugga-chugga type stuff and getting a thick tone. I use Raw mode the most, though, and EQ accordingly with pedals.
I've posted quite a bit about OD pedals and EQ's on this site, however, what may suit me may not suit you, plus our setups / gear would be quite different. You might want to search for posts if you're interested.
Still, curious about domct203 remarks about V30's vs C90's....
