What does it do??? channel B still works but that tube ain't ah glowin

it's the input tube, each triode section for a seperate channel. So if the tube is bad you'll loose one or the two channels.

So what type of 12ax7 would be good to replace it with? I guess I would go with JJs or EHX... and which variation of them...yeah I guess I'm a pain in the butt
