Hello Boogie Board

Sorry in advance if I've posted this in the wrong section, but as I understand it, there are some slight differences between the pedal & rack versions.

I recently purchased a used V Twin rack and I believe everything on it is working properly, but I've noticed the solo channel seems to have a considerably lower output than the clean channel. Is this 'typical' or 'normal'? If not, has anyone run into this and what can you tell me about it? I'm finding I have to dime the master on the solo channel and back off the clean master to get them set where I think they ought to be relative to one another.

I've confirmed that both channels & each of their respective 3 voicings sound righteous. 8)

The channel switching works. I'll be using a Rockman MIDI Octopus to access each voicing on each channel via MIDI, and that stuff all works fine too.

Just wondering about the level thing between the two channels. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

These are tricky to get info on. This site's search engine drops the "V" in the search too.

I've done some non-BB site searches and found one user review that indicated a similar experience regarding the seemingly louder clean channel issue. I also contacted Mesa and they felt like it might be a tube issue since mine did come with aftermarket tubes (both are currently Groove Tubes).

I've done searches for info in the pedal version and there seems to be more info on those that the rackmount version. It may not be Mesa's latest & greatest, but I'm sure liking it a lot.

Any love out there for these?

I'm also wondering if anyone might have any advice/suggestions on tubes they've had good luck with in this particular unit. Right now I'm debating between putting a JJ ECC83 S in both sides, vs just putting one (JJ ECC83S) in the lead side and a JJ ECC803 S in the clean channel. TIA.
