I have to do some recording where I have to DI the bass - I have no choice with this

If I run the bass into my v-twin, to try and warm it up a little, am I likely to do any damage ?

what are the consequences ?? -- loss of bass frequencies for example ???

Thanks for any replies

PS I have no bass amp I can use, but do have a mixer.... if DIing the bass into a mixer and adding the v-twin as an insert is an option

You should be able to run a bass through the v-twin without damaging anything. You'll probley notice it'll sound a little thin though. Depending on how your doing the recording you may be able to get away with just running it direct into a mixer. If your going to be using a computer for the recording, using a compressor plug-in, wise eqing, and maybe an amp simulator plugin if you have one would work better.
