Hi Guys,

I was wondering, does anyone know if I can use a single, mono cable to do channel switching? I only need to switch between my Channel 1 Clean sound and my Channel 3 Rhythm sound on my Mark V. I just do not use Channel 2 that often and my new Boss GT-100 can be connected via the 4 Cable method which I like. It only has a single amp control jack though, and it is mono so I am unsure if I can use it to switch just between channels 1 and 3 and if I can, which jack do i need to connect it into on the Mark V Head?

Many thanks,

Hmm, well, I don't know specifically about the GT-100 and how it does the switching, but I use a small midi switcher from VoodooLabs and it connects to the 1/4 inch switch inputs in the back of Mark V. And the way it works is that, if CH2 is pressed in, then CH2 is activated. If CH3 is pressed in (regardless of CH2 state), then CH3 gets activated. But since there is no CH1 input back there, the only way to "select" CH1 is to turn off both both CH2 and CH3 inputs/buttons. Similarly, if CH1 is currently activated and then you press CH3 button on the MIDI switcher, it goes directly to CH3. Un-pressing CH3 button results in the amp going back to CH1.

So, if GT-100 works in a similar way, I think all you'd need to do is connect it to CH3 input in the back of MKV. Sending a signal there would effectively result in switching between CH1 and CH3.
