Upset with a Seller who wont take Paypal! (Dual Recto#112!!!

some guy who lives right around the corner from me decided to sell his Dual Rectifier #112 and wants $1450 for it...and wont let me pay with Paypal!

I could have went this afternoon and bought it from him, if he let me, but instead i went to the amp shop and played a Diezel Herbert for a few hours there.

I don't think he knows what he has, but dammit, i don't have the Cash!

if you are gonna use paypal credit, just send somebody you know and trust a bunch of money through credit, get them to xfer to their bank account, get them to write you a check/get you cash/money order/whatever.

I wouldn't want to let you pay with Paypal too if you lived right around the corner from me.

Paypal is a great thing, but its services cost a considerable amount of money, so i tend to avoid it as much as possible.

You shouldn't be upset with the seller. His amp... his policy. You are the one lacking in the funds at the moment. How that is the sellers fault is perplexing.

If somebody was to buy something from me in person, I would never let them use Paypal. Cash only!

Here's something that you may have never considered. If you were to sell something by Paypal to a customer who picks it up in person, you can get screwed by Paypal.

The person who picked up the item can email Paypal stating they never received the item from you. You, as the seller, would have to provide shipping information (which you can't), to refute his challenge. You as the seller, will be out both your amp AND the money.

If they picked it up in person they would have to live pretty close by. I'd simply ask to see their LICENCE, write down their address and if they pulled any crap through paypal I'd drive over to their house and Pulverize them!

Exactly why I like to deal in person. If I buy something and discover some hidden major flaw once I get it home, I can just go back to the guy's house and talk to him. People are much more reasonable in person, especially when some ugly lookin' 6'6" 240 lbs guy is standing at their door.

plus...........the couple times I have let someone pay outside of PayPal the money never made it back into my PayPal account...and that is my buying and selling account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's awesome...........once you sell some stuff it's like buying with monopoly money. I love PayPay and eBay.

This is a common scam, I wouldn't accept PayPal for a local purchase either.

It always adds money to what you are buying.My advice is if you can't afford to lose the amount of money you are spending stay away.They were no help when UPS destroyed a Heartbreaker I bought on ebay.
If I hadn't put it on my credit card I would have been screwed.
