tube help..

I need suggestions. I own a dual rec/2channel...love it but am still looking for the best tubes out there. I play a lot of hardcore/metal, but have not been totally satisfied with mesa stock 6l6s.

What company/type of tube puts out the highest gain and cleans up the muddiness (not looking for el34s..i just don't like the marshall quality it brings)

Oh yea, (for those who submit) where can i get a hold of those tubes?

Unless you've got your gain control dimed, you don't need higher gain tubes. In fact, if you're looking for less muddiness, you probably want less gain.

Tung Sol Reissue 12aX7s are great. For EL34s, the Groove Tubes EL34Ms are excellent.

Also try the JJ ECC-803s.

Definately head over to the EuroTubes website and read up. He gives a good description of the tubes and also may want to try some GZ-34's for your rectifier tubes.
