Hello, I have been lurking here for a while, I have found some great info. I have a triple rectifier amp with 2 channels. I am trying to figure out how old it is. Serial number is R 01 0113 the transformer is EIA606 703. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day, TBW.

You can pull the chassis off of the headshell and look at the underside where the circuit board and all the wiring is attached. There should be a final inspection date along with the signature of the technician who tested the amp.

If you take the chassis off,

1) remove the tubes. (Keeps them from becoming accidentally broken

2) unscrew the four screws on the bottom of the headshell but keep one hand on the chassis so it doesn't get away on you.

3) Slide the chassis out the back and turn it upside down. Be careful, the little blue battery things have a huge charge and can apparently give quite the zap.

You should see the tech initials and the final inspection date under here.
