Just bought a second hand triaxis. When I put it in a rack (a gator 2u) at first the back was very loose. What I mean is that even though I made sure the 4 front bolts were nice and tight, it was still possible to move the back up and down quite a bit.
Is this normal? I'm thinking that compared to most rack things it's quite deep and also quite heavy, for a 1 u thing.
It worries me that in transportation it's going to be constantly waggling up and down, and eventually will fail.
I couldn't see any obvious damage, such as the chassis not being in one piece.
For now I've changed the way I rack it. I put 4 little rubber feet on the bottom, then put it in another rack I've got that has the slidey type rack strips, so just let it rest on the bottom of the case. With the G Major (also with rubber feet) on top of it it's kind of 'clamped' in now.
But I'd like to not be restricted in my choice of rack. And I see lots of photos of other peoples racks where they've used standard gator/skb type lightweight racks, which as far as I can tell don't allow you to use support shelves or anything.
Cheers.
