Triaxis - Dead EQ section - HELP!!!

Hi,
I recieved my Triaxis just a while ago(used, eBay),
and came to realize that the Treble-Mid-Bass controls
do NOTHING.
I press the buttons, the display goes up and down, but no difference in tone!!!
The problem occurs in all modes except the LD1-red, where the
EQ comes back to life.
All other controls work fine, just no EQ section.
This is a major bummer, especially since there is no MB
service here in Israel and this is a used unit.
Help anyone? Ideas?

If you right that the eq section doesn't work,man you have to find somebody to fix it.
If you press the buttoms and nothing happens,what can I say,it have to be fixed !
However you can try something :shock:
Open thriaxis and disconnect all cables(those ribbons with several coloured cables with a plug at its end) clean-up the plugs and reconnect them.
I hope it'll works

Hi again,

Well - I got it fixed!!!

I spent a while studying the triaxis schematics
at http://www.freeinfosociety.com/electronics/schemview.php?id=298.

It was obvious that Valve 2 has a major role in and around the
EQ section, while the LD 1 Red mode has its own EQ section and is therefore perhaps unaffected by what was wrong.

I pulled out all the colored ribbons one by one, washed them with
a spray of electronic contact cleaner and put them back in place,
though they all seemed in excelent shape to start with.

Then I switched the valves between V2 & V5 (effects return),
fired back up and VOILA - the EQ was working.

Now I have a lot of noise in all modes, which just reinforces my
suspicion that it is a bad tube. So I will have to get a new set.

Basic operation = bought something used , retube it. :wink:

Any ideas as to what can create all that noise?
At hig gain settings sound like a military radio by a stormy sea!
Will retube ASAP!

Everything can cause it even the lights of your room,bad guitar wirings, bad house wirings ,so retube it first than you'll see .

At higain my triaxis (I think all triaxis has it) has a shhhhhhhhhhhh sound but very low.Noise gate of my gmajor cuts it.
Just a shhhhhhhhhhhhhh nothing like a a military radio by a stormy sea.

Never plug tube equipments in your wall, buy a furman to protect them from voltage spikes . :wink:

I am considering the Triaxis JJ/Tesla re-tube set
from Eurotubes:
Standard ECC83S's in V1 thru V4 and a Matched and Balanced ECC83S for the output in V5. The lot for $46.50.
Any comments?

I tried them and don't liked.
They sucked my triaxis distortion.
I bought from doug's tubes SOVTEK 12AX7 SW 9 usd each.
Amazing tone,my distortion is crying like a baby.
With the JJ my triaxis sounded like an overdrive pedal :evil:
Now with sovteks it is screaming :twisted:
