i was thinking about getting a Triaxis to use with my DC-5 head. can i send the Triaxis into the return of the loop on the DC-5 with good results? anyone try this before? if i had an A/B/Y splitter, could i use both the preamp of the DC-5 w/ the Triaxis at the same time?

apologies if the is a Mesa n00b question, but i've already confessed to being a Mesa n00b!

i'd like to see opinions if anyone out there has already tried this.

i'm off to read the Triaxis manual...

The DC-5 has a effect loop in parallel, even when you set the fx mix to 100%. At 100% you still get a small amount of signal, probably like 70%. So, you need a series loop, otherwise the DC-5 preamp will be always presented in the fx loop return, which introduces noise and hum.
Check Vintage Amps -> Dual Caliber to see information of how to mod the fx loop to series.
I did it and it's the way to go. It works.
Newest rack multi effects work better in series loop too.
