As much as I love my Mk V combo, I had to try it with an EV 12-L for that classic Boogie tone... However, (Here's where I needs help) there isn't much room between the two middle tubes and the magnet... I think moving it will take a bit of extra care, but my concern is the magnetic pull on the tubes...

I'm wondering if they can be loaded from the front in order to gain some space...

Comments? Suggestions??

Whoo hoo! The magnificent minds at Mesa Engineering had the forethought to install a baffle that could be loaded from the front or rear! Although, now the grille needs spacers to sit properly on the bit of speaker frame it hits... Or, I could take some wood out...

After getting everything sewn back up, I fired it up, and was rewarded with sonic nirvana! There's something magic about a Boogie coming through an EV 12-L; the Tweed setting is righteously tight and clean, Mk 1 mode is downright vicious, and Mk IV simply smokes...

Cool. that's good to know. I have an extra EVM12L sitting around, so I'll have to give it a try when I get time.

You may want to get some screws that are 1/2" longer, along with some 1/2" spacers for the grille to sit properly.

I had to re-tweak all my settings, because the EV reacts totally different from the C90; the Mk I, II, and IV modes really smoke now... The added headroom is awesome! It was like a whole new amp!!

Enjoy!
