Dude,
I completely understand what you are saying. I don't think this was the case here.
That was the nicest of his emails.
I do have the money now. I did not then. If somebody comes to me on ebay and says, I won't have the money til next week, can I bid. Usually this is alright.
I did not ask him to hold it for me. I did not ask him to let me bid.
I asked him if he were going to re-list it if it did not sell, and for better pictures so that I could make sure it was fixed right.
The fact is, no matter how long this jerk spent in retail, he never learned customer service. To call a potential customer a name, and to refuse to provide as much proof as possible that the neck was repaired properly raises so many red flags.
If you were going to buy a guitar that had a repair like that, wouldn't you want a picture of the front of the guitar so that you could ensure the strings lined up properly? I did.
I bet that whoever gets this guitar is going to be sorry. Look at his other auctions. He has a Lee Jackson Crate head that is missing 2 power tubes. Not the Inner or Outer pair, but a pair that sits right next to each other. That amp shouldn't even work like that. The guy is a tool.
