I bought a GCX audio switcher on Ebay that was advertised like new. I plugged it in and the lights lit up and cycled through and then went off. I didn't have the Ground Control Pro yet to set it up. I finally get the GCP awhile later and set it up but I can't get the GCX to respond. I went through the directions and several MIDI cables wired for 5 and nothing. The GCX lights up, cycles through the 8 loops, the active LED blinks and goes off and thats it. I called Voodoo Labs and they went through it all with me and nothing. I'm down to sending it in for repair. I had to wait quite awhile to get the GCP so I left the guy positive feedback. Am I screwed or what. I emailed the guy and am still waiting to hear back. I wouldn't have normally left positive feedback like that but it was going to be a long time before I got the GCP. This might be an expensive lesson learned.

you got hosed

just kidding, I work for an electronic firm and in the same lab with RMA (return units for repairs) and the repair technician goes through units that has intermittent problems. Those are hard to diagnose. So-called 'broken' unit would work fine so he has to call the customer how, when, what environment the customer experiences these problems.

but likely in your case the seller sold you a bunked item.

Don't know what to say but I sympathize with you and hopefully it gets repaired.

I think I'm going to give up on MIDI. This has been a huge headache and waste of time for me. Everything will be going up for sale tonight I think. I don't use many pedals anyway so I should be fine.
