Hello all!

Long time lurker, first time poster here...

I was wondering if any of you Express owners have ever tried out the Thiele 1X12 wide cab from Mesa with an express combo. I have a 5:50 1X12 and love it dearly but I'm thinking of adding an extra cab to my rig. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated and thanks to all.

First of all, if you do a little digging, you'll see that many people have rave reviews about using a Thiele cab with an open-back combo. I don't think I've ever read a post from somebody who didn't like it!

Secondly, the new Mesa cab is not a Thiele design. It's simply a front-ported wide body cab. You'll find more information on this cab in the Mark V forum.

Good luck!

I've tried it briefly and yeah, it sounded really **** good. Try one out if you can. Sorry to not be much help. I don't totally remember what it sounds like, but I remember really liking it.

Oh dude, and don't rule out Boogafunk as an option. The dude knows how to make a good custom cab at a good price. A Thiele with the right speaker focuses the sound a lot more and really brings out all the gain. Mine has a Jensen C12K. I never liked the blues channel before that speaker.

You're talking about running a second speaker, as opposed to replacing the existing one in the combo, right? I too want to run a second speaker, but figured I better match the C90 that's in there already. I just posted a "WTB" for the widebody Express cab w/C90.... Know where I can get one in DFW?
