Just for fun, I decided to do this song. One guitar is panned left, one panned right, lead slightly to the left. Everything is on the first take, so it's not perfect, and I haven't played the lead in probably 10 years, so it's sloppy.

But it's tone nonetheless. Check it out.

Thanks. I wasn't too concerned about getting it perfect, I just wanted to get some sound clips done. I got a new mic and wanted to mess around with it to see how it sounds, and well, I'm liking it so far.

I think it sounds pretty tight for a Recto also. Maybe that's just me.

I used a cheap MXL 2001 condenser. I tried a 57, Sennheiser 609, and a Rode NT1, and the MXL was the best sounding of all of them. I was surprised to say the least.
 
Compared to the original, it's a lot spongier and loose sounding. Maybe try a Tube Screamer to tighten it up a little bit.
