So my footswitch has completely gone berserk, with the usual rapid clicking/EQ problem that many people seem to have.
It's always been a little spotty, but I had it supported at both ends (I had the end plugged into the footswitch supported by a foam cradle I cut and the other end I would just wrap around the handle a few times for extra support. Now however the slightest bump will set the footwsiwtch off on a mad rampage and at the last gig the vibration from the speakers was enough to cause the end plugged into the amp to go nuts. As of this morning I can no longer use the footswitch at all.
I've searched the forums and tried many of the suggested solutions with no joy. I haven't tried replacing the cable yet, but I'm going to do that today... From the sounds of it though that sounds like a temporary solution if it even helps at all.
Someone mentioned using pliers to turn the ends of the cable into a slight oval shape which did help slightly, but not enough for me to be able to reply on. I also hear some mention about bending one of the pins for better contact, but I didn't really understand well enough to attempt it.
Are there any other solutions to this problem that I've missed?
