As I have just purchased some tubes Stateside, and all being well a relative will be bringing them over to England for me...

Last month, I flew to the US with a bunch of preamp tubes and then flew out of the US with even more preamp tubes plus some power tubes a few days later. The tubes were individually bubble-wrapped and then placed inside a paper box that fit in my small carry-on suitcase. I did not have problems with airport security screenings. Both times the suitcase went through the x-ray machine without being held for visual inspection afterwards. On the return trip, they did stop me at the metal detector and made me go back to take my shoes and waistbelt off before going through it again, though.

Don't forget to remove any "radioactive" sticker on the tubes ;-)

Do you mean the Sovtek tubes from their MiG Jet Fighters? Oh, you said 'on aircraft' not 'from airc raft'

Sorry about that
