My dad had two NOS Sylvania 7199's laying around from forever ago and gave them to me. Anybody had any experience with these in a Recto? I don't even know if these belong in guitar amps but I kinda want to fiddle around with them, maybe as reverb or PI.

I am pretty sure the 7199 isn't even close to being the same as a 12ax7. You would have to change the wiring on your tube sockets to use them.

I think.

*DO NOT* try these in a Rectifier or any other amp that doesn't specifically call for this type!

They are a completely different tube (a combination triode/pentode, not a dual triode) with different pin connections. I haven't tried to work it out in detail from what would get connected to what, but there's a good chance you'll blow the tube, possibly damage the amp, or both.
