Keep this in mind, i have never ever learned anything about racks. Anyway, is it possible to run something like a triaxis through a cab and get the same result as running a head through a cab? is that what thier purpose is? thanx!

Think of it this way. Inside of a head is a preamp and poweramp. The Triaxis is just a preamp. You need both to drive a cabinet. You need to do a search for an in depth explanation but thats the gist of it.

it's not a question it's something that I don't like
and something like this scares me inside

What Rhymes?

Anyways, like said before, the triaxis and the Recto Recording Preamp are just the preamp. You'll need power after the preamp to drive speakers, anything from the 2:20 to the 2:100, or if you have another head and can slave the power amp section.

What is an asinine or assonance

Assonance is rhyming vowels.
Asinine is ripping someone a new one for asking an honest question!

Back to the question, you really need something to amplify the preamp. It doesn't have to be a dedicated rack mounted power amp, you can use a head, or a combo, that has an effects loop. I've been running a Quad through the power section of my .50 Cal for a couple of years now. The preamp send is plugged into the return jack on my combo. That bypasses the preamp section of my combo and islolates the power section.

That's really not cost effective, since I've "wasted" the preamp section on my combo, but it's what I've got for now & it works fine. If you are starting a new rig, and dead set on the triaxis, look into the 20/20. They are by no means cheap, but take up very little room. Tube replacement will be less expensive too.

Boogie on, Tommy.

+1 on the 20/20. It's all the volume you're ever likely to need--frankly, probably more than you'll need.

One thing you need to be aware of if you're looking at a Triaxis is that it's *not* really intended to produce super-heavy DR tones, if that's what you're looking for.

If you want the most out of your Triaxis, you will want a 2:90 because of the switching of the Half, Deep and Modern modes.

The 20/20 and 2:50 don't have them, and the 2:100 only has Modern.
