Hey guys
the bad news keeps on flowing, recently after returning from tour i was broken into and my prized Dual Rec was pinched along with alot of other gear but only the dual rec i really cared about.

Luckily enough my insurance company is hooking me up with a new amp.
im wondering do i replace the dual rec or do i invest in a Rivera (namely the KR7) as i've heard amazing things about these amps.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the Rivera's and if they hold up to the Mesa as well for Death Metal.

any help or advice would be great as im having a rough time trying to decide and would like a little input.
thanks

To me, many amps out here are a response to a successful Mesa amp. The Rec, dialed in (means you are not trying to cover the bass player too) was the best there was. I had a knuck tre for about a year. It had a very modern high gain, like boosted Rec. a better clean channel, but would not give the flexibility of a Rec. I sold it. There are so many perple using Rectifiers outside the box. They are even in newer rock-country.

IMO, go with the original item. The Rectifier is the real deal, the tone that pretty much defined chug for a decade. I hear people that are fanatical about old Tremoverbs. Might be worth a test ride.

I am not a brand fanboy, btw. Hell, I just picked up a used dirt cheap DSL100 yesterday.

Good luck on your tone quest.

Peace Out....
