Just tooling around in my living room. I apologize for the ****** production quality, but it was recorded with a $50 webcam :lol:

Still, you can get a general idea of the tone. The camera's mic adds a lot more treble than what you'd hear in person.

My settings are:

Channel 2
Tite Gain mode
Tube rectification
Bold
Output = 9 o'clock
Master = 1 o'clock
Presence = 12 o'clock
Bass = 10 o'clock
Mid = 11 o'clock
Treble = 1 o'clock
Gain = 4 o'clock

I'm also running an MXR 6-band EQ in the FX loop for this clip.

wow! i didn't stilleto's got that heavy!

JJ's KT77 power tubes and a combination of Tung Sol 12AX7 and JJ ECC83 pre amp tubes 8)

Nice work, that IS a pretty heavy tone.

Nice ink too.

Thanks.

I had a clip somewhere of the Trident with the stock EL34s for comparison... but have yet to find it. I don't suppose it matters, because after experiencing the KT77s I don't think I'll be going back to EL34s. :)

Anybody else try the KT77's? I'm wondering what you need to get to make sure they will run ok in a Mesa...?

Looks like Groove Tubes also has a KT-77 type available. Sounds interesting.

From their website:

This tube has a different design than an EL34 tube and a higher vacuum. This tube will have mids and lows that sound somewhat deeper and bigger than most EL34 types. Think of this as an articulate tube as an EL34 but with the low end authority of many 6L6 types. This tube has a very long service life when compared to most EL34 tube types. This is also a very rugged tube with a wonderful thick glass bottle is is less prone to physical microphonics.
