I,ve got a mark 3 rack mounted purple stripe which i have been slaving a mark 2a into which i have just converted to a rack mount.I,ve been running them into a mesa 2x12 half back and mesa 4x10.Here,s the thing it definately changes the tone, the closest thing i can compare it to is when you change the impedence of the cab you are running ie use the 4 ohm out instead of the 8ohm into an 8ohm cab.The sound thins out loses some gain and seems to get more detailed! The sound is different, not better or worse and does not happen when i,m not slaving my mark 3 into another amp.Does anybody else have any experience of slaving their boogies for a stereo rig and getting a different tone?

i've never run in stereo, but i've noticed the same effect on my lonestar running the direct out into a board: not sure about the electrical details but it did sound like an impedance mismatch. i didn't dig it & insisted that they use a mic instead.
