Hey Guys,

My dream is to modify my dual rectifier to have a stereo FX return and instead of 100W Mono be 50W Per Side. Does anyone know what needs to happen to make this reality? If so who can I send it to? It would so sick to have just the Dual, and a 4X12 and run stereo fx. I'm actually surprised I can't find any information on this because the cab sounds unreal in stereo.

Thanks

Welcome to The Board.

You would need an additional output section in the amp including output transformer. I don't think there is enough physical space inside the chassis to do this, even though it does sound cool. The cost of this would probably be comparable to, or even exceed the cost of a used Rectifier 2:100 power amp. Also, the amp head weight would almost double, as most of the weight is the transformers.

I use 1/2 of a Recto 2:100 for stereo with my Roadster, or both 1/2's with the Roadster for W/D/W. I agree, it sounds awesome, but is quite impractical for most local gigs.

Hey Dom thanks for your reply. I've considered getting a stereo poweramp and a WDW setup but that's more tubes to replace and more gear to set up and neither does mesa make a poweramp with tube rectification. Why can you have a stereo solidstate amp and not add all the weight?
