I was wondering why the standard recto 4x12 "straight" cab has a slight slant to the upper 2x12's and the front cover doesn't meet the edges of the cabinet, even though this is the straight cabinet, why don't they just make this cab completely straight like the traditional cab is? im sure someone must know the reason they do it this way...thanks

The "straight" cabs are considered the "B" cab and designed to go under the "A" or slant cab in a full stack. The top 2 speakers are still angled like the slant cab so the guitarist can hear it better.

You can now get the standard cab in an all straight front configuration or the straight cab, slant baffle.
