So... what do I have to do to use my Carbon Copy through this thing? All of my other pedals do just fine with it, but not the Carbon Copy. Can anyone explain why that is??

The fx loop is line level, not instrument level. So if you are getting clipping or farty type sounds when using that pedal you have to lower your master volume to get the correct level that the pedal can handle on its input. On the Solos/Rectoverbs, your master vol control acts as a fx send level.

Really? That's weird. The master on the front of the amp?

How 'bout a hint as to what it's doing or not doing?

Does it work in front of the amp?

It works fine out front, but as you know, it sounds like butt with any sort of distortion. When it's in the loop it sounds fine for a second and then this huge, whirring helicopter noise starts.

Your individual Channel Masters are the FX Loop Send level control, the amp's Output control is the FX Loop Return level control.

Try turning down your Channel Masters and see if the whirring noise goes away. It sounds like you are clipping the pedal with too hot of a signal.
