I've decided that I'm going to sell my .50 Cal and some other stuff to get a Tremoverb. I've been buying and selling a bunch of amps over the past year, and I've realized that I just keep comparing them to the Tremoverb I used to have.

That is the tone I'm looking for, so this is what I'm doing.

The amp is stock, no modifications.

Here is a list of the maintenance items that I've done to the amp:
Replace all Carbon Composition Resistors in the Signal Chain. This eliminated the hiss associated with Carbon Comp.

Replace all Electrolytic Capacitors in the amp. It was built in 1990, so I figured it was time. This gave the amp much more headroom.

Replace all Preamp Tube Sockets. The original ones were shot. I could not clean them because the carbon buildup was too great.

Replace all LDR's.

I used only Mesa parts, all of them were purchased directly from Mesa.

I do not know how old the tubes are, but they sound great. They are Mesa Preamp tubes and Mesa 6L6's.

It is a little dirty, but everything functions on it as it should.

I will try to take some pictures this afternoon.

Make me a fair offer and it's yours. I bought it for $425 + shipping, but it was broken and did not change channels right and was very noisy. Now, it is very quiet and changes channels flawlessly.

I think I've seen them going for around $550 or $600 lately on ebay.

I don't really want to ebay this, since I put so much effort into it. I would rather see it go to a good home.

:D Here you go....

The tolex has quite a few scratches and tears, but the amp is in tip top shape electronically.

The faceplate has a few blemishes, as does the nameplate.

I tried to get everything to show up in the pictures.

No, I thougth it was factory. All of the 50 Cal heads that I've seen have had this hole. It may be there to help when changing tubes. I'm guessing that yours doesn't have the hole?

The edges are very straight, like they were cut with a machine, and not by hand.

Most Mesa heads have a Reverb Tank in this hole, these have the reverb inside the chassis. At 1st I thought that wouldn't sound very good, but the reverb is surprisingly pleasant on this amp.

The cleans are really warm and round.
The EQ works great.
The distortion tones are very good, think old-school 80's metal to COC (who actually uses these amps) to pretty much any Classic Rock tones you could want.
The Loop works.

It does have a footswitch too for changing channels.

This one has it too. Must be a factory thing.

 My wife tells me every Wednesday that we're going to win the lottery. Haven't seen it yet.

I know what you mean. If I had my way, I'd have 2 or 3 of everything Mesa and PRS ever made.

I would like to keep it, and I put a lot of time in it making sure that everything was working well, but I really know that what I'm looking for is a Tremoverb. Might have to settle for a Rectoverb, but the reverb is terrible on them.
