Can a slave output be used input straight into a recording interface? and would this mute the speaker output?

I am looking to do some silent recording straight from my rectoverb's pre amp and the manual is not so informitive regarding the slave out.

I prefer going from the send fx to the pc and from here adding a speaker emulation...it sounds good even though this won't mute the speaker

You can use this but, you'll need impulses on your DAW or it'll sound harsh and trebly. Also, this will not mute the output, to mute the output, YOU HAVE TO RUN A DUMMY LOAD AT THE SPEAKER OUT. If you go slave out without putting a load on the speaker outs you will seriously harm your amplifier. Get a Hot Plate or some sort of dummy load for this.

+1. The Hotplate works great! If I recall correctly, it has a power handling of up to 150 watts.
